Overview
A browser-based crane simulator I built with accurate load physics. I use it to keep practicing after the G4 course ended, when I no longer had access to a real crane but still wanted to sharpen the feel.
My focus was the behaviour of the load: swing, momentum, anticipation, stopping a swing cleanly. Things that only really click with hours on the controls. A place for me to put those hours in, where mistakes cost nothing.
What it taught me
Writing the physics forced me to understand why loads behave the way they do. And once it worked, it became the thing I actually use. A place to keep the feel alive between courses, where mistakes cost nothing.
